* Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
* Beat 2 sticks of butter in electric mixing bowl, mix in the sugar and vanilla.
* Slowly add the flour until well mixed. Beat in the chopped pecans.
* Form dough into 1-inch-by-1-inch balls and space evenly on an ungreased cookie sheet. They will not spread out too much as there is no baking soda or powder. Bake for 45-55 minutes until lightly browned and firm, otherwise they will crumble in your hands when rolling them in powdered sugar.
* Mix the powdered sugar and cinnamon in a large bowl. (Extra can be saved for later cookie batches.)
* Roll warm cookies in the powdered sugar mixture one or two at a time so that the mixture adheres to the surface of the cookies. There is very little sugar in the dough so it is important to make them small and get the sugar coating on the outside.
* These cookies keep well, and are great for shipping as gifts.
